Support Engineer - Waltham

A Support Engineer is responsible for assisting OpenPages customers to successfully deploy our products and applications. A Support Engineer will typically spend the majority of their time researching and answering support questions by phone or email and the remaining time in training and knowledge-acquisition.

Typical responsibilities include helping and providing solutions to OpenPages customers through debugging, research and investigation, while maintaining constant communication with the customer or end-user.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide assistance to field consultants engaged at customer sites 
  • Documenting knowledgebase solutions for our customers 
  • Participate in test cycles of new products

This position will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Waltham, MA and involves limited travel.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years technical support experience in a Windows environment, preferably with a web-based application
  • An understanding of XML, Java/J2EE, C++ using OO concepts.
  • An understanding of web-based applications and J2EE Application Server technology, including JSP, Servlets, IBM Websphere or BEA Weblogic. 
  • Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle or other major commercial relational database system
  • Excellent presentation, writing and interpersonal skills, customer-oriented attitude, and high-energy team
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with financial application software like Peoplesoft, Hyperion, Oracle, etc.
