Getting Around in Boston:
If you are flying in to Logan International Airport, the Renaissance Boston Waterfront is less than three miles from Logan International Airport – just a short cab ride away.
Boston is often called America’s Walking City due to the fact that it is compact and mostly flat -- except for Beacon Hill that is! A comfortable pair of walking shoes and a good map are all you need to see Boston and all it has to offer. A walking map of Boston that shows locations of subway stations can be found at http://www.cityofboston.gov/environmentalandenergy/pdfs/cityroutes.pdf
In addition the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) offers convenient transportation via the “T”. For information on using the T, rates, and subway maps, go to http://www.mbta.com/riding_the_t/getting_around/.
What to Do In Boston?
History is all around in America's oldest city, but there's a lot going on in modern Beantown too. The city is known for the many universities and colleges based here and in Cambridge including, of course, Harvard and MIT. Many of Boston attractions can be taken in on foot in a day or two—Boston Common, the country's oldest park; the mansions of Beacon Hill; shopping on Newbury Street; and all the sights along the Freedom Trail. For a complete list of attractions and things to do while you are in town, go to http://www.cityofboston.gov/visitors/thingstodo.asp
Boston is also well known as a seaport. For a guided walking tour of the harbor, download a Boston Harborwalk MP3 Tour. http://www.bostonharborwalk.com/audio_tour/
Boston also offers a wealth of museums. So whether your interests include American history, fine art, or harbor seals, you are sure to find something you will enjoy.
