On day one of OPUS, David Holcombe, director of risk management for International Speedway Corporation (ISC) and NASCAR, Inc., will address the evolution of race cars and safety management from the 1950’s to the present. Holcombe will also look at the challenges facing large Motorsport facilities, and in particular, managing risk at these large public gatherings. Kicking off day two Mark Beasley, Deloitte ERM professor and ERM Initiative director, at NC State University will be presenting. In Mr. Beasley’s keynote presentation on “Aligning ERM and Strategy,” he will discuss how organizations are responding to evolving risk demands by leveraging traditional risk management processes into an enterprise risk management (ERM) view of their key risks. Beasley will also explore how ERM should be linked to strategy planning to ensure that ERM is positioned to add value. In addition to these keynotes, OPUS V will also feature over forty sessions that will include: keynotes from top industry experts; customer case studies; best practices forums; OpenPages product updates and previews; and partner presentations. Furthermore, this year’s event will provide attendees with more hands-on product sessions, as well as more structured peer-networking discussion groups that will help in mapping out the best strategy for advancing strategic GRC initiatives. OPUS is a three-day forum designed to foster thought-leadership in the areas of governance, risk and compliance and offer real-world experiences for increasing efficiency and business improvement. The event brings together a significant cross-section of OpenPages’ customers, as well as industry experts and analysts, leading risk and assurance firms, and technology providers, to discuss business governance efforts, share perspectives and obtain valuable advice from each other.
