As President and CEO, Michael Duffy is responsible for both corporate strategy and operational performance. Based on his vision, OpenPages has emerged as the leading provider of enterprise risk management solutions for the world’s leading companies and has been recognized throughout the industry for its product innovation and dedication to customer success. Under his leadership, OpenPages has achieved record growth resulting in its inclusion in the Inc 500 list of fastest-growing private companies, in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing companies and in the Red Herring 100, the award given to the top 100 private technology companies.
In 2007 and in 2004, Treasury and Risk Management Magazine named Duffy as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Finance. In 2007, he was awarded the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Duffy received a B.S. degree in Accountancy from Bentley College.
As Chief Financial Officer, Mary Jefts is responsible for all the financial and administrative operations of the company. She brings more than 15 years of financial leadership experience and a track record of success to OpenPages. Before joining OpenPages, Jefts was Vice President of Finance at Netegrity, Inc., a public company traded on the NASDAQ, where as a member of the senior management team she was responsible for directing all financial activities, including the design and implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley certification process.
Prior to Netegrity, Jefts was Vice President of Finance for Prime Response, Inc., also a public company traded on the NASDAQ, where she was responsible for directing all financial and administrative activities including strategic finance, accounting, tax, treasury, budgeting, contracts management, SEC and management reporting, as well as facilities, information technology and human resources. She began her career as an auditor with Coopers and Lybrand.
Jefts holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Bentley College and is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts.
As leader of the OpenPages sales team, Matt Park works with the team to further drive the company’s momentum and customer traction in the enterprise GRC market. Park is a seasoned sales executive with 20 years experience in driving strategic direction and sales growth for a variety of software companies.
Prior to joining OpenPages, Park was the senior vice president of Softscape, Inc. where he was responsible for managing global sales efforts, resulting in sales growth of over 500% during the past five years. He also assisted in the development of the company’s sales strategy and processes. Previously, Park served as the vice president of sales and marketing at Human Asset Technologies where he managed the direct and channel sales for mid-to-large size companies. There, Park successfully launched a new ASP product into the market, closed deals with over 20 companies and forged strategic partnerships with reseller and consulting companies. He has also served as senior vice president of sales at Quadstone, Inc., director of worldwide sales – high seas division at Raytheon Marine Co., and director of channel sales at Factpoint.
Park holds an MBA from American Graduate School of International Management and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Villanova University.
As Vice President, Marketing, Gordon M. Burnes is responsible for leading the company’s marketing and partnership efforts to help drive OpenPages’ revenue growth. Burnes brings to OpenPages seventeen years of experience working with high growth companies. Burnes comes to OpenPages from McNamee Lawrence, a boutique investment bank focused on the information technology sector, where he provided strategic financial advisory services to mid-market software companies.
Prior to McNamee Lawrence, Burnes held a variety of marketing and business development roles in emerging technology companies. As vice president of marketing and business development at Wheelhouse, Burnes managed corporate and product marketing as well as ISV alliances and technology partnerships. Prior to joining Wheelhouse, Burnes was responsible for product marketing at GTE Internetworking’s IP Telecom division. Before that, Burnes held several different product marketing and product management roles at Shiva Corporation.
Burnes has an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from Harvard University.
As Vice President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), David Gray is responsible for leading the company’s operations and strategy in EMEA. With nearly 20 years experience in enterprise sales and the provision of mission critical client solutions, Gray has been instrumental in leading the expansion of the OpenPages EMEA operations. He has a track record of defining a set of strategies and building teams to execute efficiently in the field, in order to enable sustainable growth of the business. Since Gray’s appointment in 2007, OpenPages’ EMEA presence has expanded significantly, while its revenues and client base have more than doubled.
Prior to OpenPages, Gray was the UK Managing Director for Cartesis, a leading Business Performance Management (BPM) vendor, where he grew core revenues by more than 400%, and established a robust client focused operation. He has managed numerous successful sales initiatives and teams at enterprise solution providers including Business Objects, Knowledge Management Software, Sun Microsystems and IBM.
Gray holds a Joint BA honors degree in History and Politics from the University of Nottingham.
Michael Knox serves as Vice President of Customer Service and Support for OpenPages, combining more than 20 years of Customer and Professional Services management experience with industry leaders such as Intel, Shiva Corporation, Astea International and Saddlebrook.
Prior to his current role, Knox led the Customer Support team at OpenPages where he established a team of Support Engineers and Account Managers, known for their responsiveness and focus on customer satisfaction. At Intel Network Systems (formerly Shiva Corporation), Knox was responsible for all aspects of Customer Service and Support for the Americas and the Asia Pacific Regions. In this role, Knox set strategic direction and defined and managed a wide variety of Customer Service programs and initiatives that led to substantial increases in client satisfaction ratings and dramatic operating margin improvement.
Prior to Shiva Corporation, Knox was responsible for technical support operations for Astea’s Customer Service Management applications. At Saddlebrook, he held roles in technical support and account management.
As Vice President of Engineering, Gary Zakon leads the product development efforts for the company’s line of enterprise risk management solutions. Zakon joined OpenPages in December of 2001, and led the company’s effort to develop and deliver OpenPages’ ERM platform, upon which OpenPages solutions are built.
Zakon brings more than 20 years of software engineering experience to OpenPages. Prior to joining OpenPages, he was Vice President of the Advanced Products Group at Mercator Software where he spearheaded multiple initiatives to increase Mercator's market share in the B2B Integration market. This involved formulating the company's product strategy in the areas of XML support, B2B messaging, trading partner management and business process automation.
Prior to joining Mercator, Zakon was Vice President of Engineering and CTO at Novera Software. At Novera, he built a world-class engineering team that brought to market the first Java Application Server. Novera was acquired by Mercator in October, 1999. He also served as an Engineering Manager at Sybase and a Project Leader at BBN Communications. Gary received a Masters of Science in Information Systems from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from MIT.
In his role as Vice President of Human Resources, George Hotter has been instrumental in developing the core values under which OpenPages operates. His foundation has created the customer-centric, high-energy work environment that has resulted in OpenPages early leadership position in the enterprise risk management market.
Previously Hotter was the Director of Recruiting and Human Resources with Extraprise, a CRM consulting services company. While there, he led an international recruiting effort that brought nearly 500 hires to the company in the United States and Europe in 3 years. He also managed the assimilation efforts for Extraprise's international acquisitions. Prior to that, he served as the Human Resource Manager for GTE Internetworking, where he managed national recruiting efforts and filled more than 140 positions in 12 months. He also developed an executive leadership-training program focused on sales leadership, increasing sales productivity in all regions while reducing employee turnover.
Hotter holds a bachelor of science in business administration and organizational management from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. Additionally, he holds the PHR certification as recognized by the Society of Human Resource Management and has taken advanced human resource management training at Bentley College.
