Cadbury Committee:
- Cadbury Committee Definition
Chaired by Sir Adrian Cadbury, this committee recommended
changes to the financial aspects of corporate governance in
the UK. Published in 1992, the Cadbury Code was the first
Code of Best Practice on corporate governance. After other
codes were produced, they were formed to create the Combined
Code on Good Governance. Under these codes, the London Stock
Exchange requires companies to regulate directors' behaviors
and compensation, shareholder relations and accountability
and audit. This is to ensure that companies are being run
honestly and proficiently and that shareholders are provided
with dependable and sufficient information.
